John Patience - about me
- I trained in typography and book design at the Harris College in Preston, Lancashire, UK.
- I worked briefly as a designer for a couple of publishers in London, England.
- I did various jobs to earn a living, whilst writing and illustrating my own children's books and trying to get published.
- My first self-authored illustrated children's book was published in 1980 - The Seasons in Fern Hollow
- Since then I have had more than 100 titles published in many countries around the world and translated into many languages.
- I have written, designed and illustrated both "flat" books and pop-up books including doing the paper engineering.
- Please use the links under John Patience Books above for more information about and pictures of some of my books.
Please note that we are now re-publishing a lot of my titles, so if you've been looking for an old favourite but you'd prefer to buy a new copy rather than used / second-hand, it might be on our Talewater Press page where you'll find information about available and forthcoming titles.
