The Fern Hollow Bugle

Volume 1, edition 1 25 August 2003

Main Stories

Monster in the River

A frightened Mr Blodger reported a strange sight in the river by Trundleberry Manor. "It was sort of a dark, round hump in the water. I think it was a monster," he told our roving reporter, Sigmund Swamp.

You can be sure the Fern Hollow Bugle will keep you up to date on this exciting story as it develops.

Windy Wood Blaze

The hot weather has caused a number of problems in Fern Hollow, not least of which was the fire in Windy Wood earlier this week. It is not known how the blaze started. The brave Fern Hollow Fire Brigade managed to put out the fire and P C Hoppitt is pursuing investigations. "The culprit will be found," he told the Bugle.

Sports Day Highlights

Sports Day Shocker!

Much to her surprise, mother of three Mrs Rusty accidentally won the 100 yards sprint. Mrs Rusty's hat blew off and she went chasing after it down the running track. Her turn of speed was a revelation to all the spectators!

Egg and Spoon Race Incidents

Spike Willowbank was disqualified from the Egg and Spoon Race when it was discovered he had superglued his egg onto the spoon.

Polly Prickles won the race but her egg hatched out as she crossed the finishing line. She has been awarded a certificate as the winner of the "Chick and Spoon Race".
